One coach, one surfer. The whole session is spent on what you are doing, which is why this is the fastest way to go from standing up to catching one on your own. For every age and every level — the coaches are local, certified and lifeguard-trained.

The same coaching, split between you and whoever you came with. We never take big groups, so there is always somebody with you in the water rather than a line of students waiting on the sand.

Some days the wave in front of town is not the wave you want. We run trips around the area — Santa Teresa itself, up to Playa Hermosa and down to Cabuya — and go to whichever one is working that morning.

DELMAR is a surf school and surf shop in Santa Teresa, on the Nicoya Peninsula. We teach surfing to every age and every level, and all of our coaches are local, certified, lifeguard-trained and experienced at teaching.
You choose a private lesson or a shared one. We never take big groups, so somebody is always with you in the water. Beyond the lesson we run surf trips around the area — Santa Teresa, Playa Hermosa and down to Cabuya — and we rent boards and bikes out of the shop.
